16-01-2009 Program at Muni School-7 Sabarmati, Ahmedabad

Hello,

1st program after Uttarayan commenced today. Today not only students but teachers and parents were amazed to see the half phase of Venus. They never thought of looking at one point of light that apparently looks half when seen through telescope. We explained them how it happens.

Unfortunately, girl students were less today. The principal explained that parents are not ready to send them at evening time. But those who came, interacted nicely. The slides of solar system were jaw dropping experience for all. Since the slide show was in open ground, all the passer by curiously came to see the program and remained till last. At the end of the session when gifts of solar system and space shuttle models were given, there was million dollar smile on faces. The third prize of solar system post-cards was given to principal for answering correctly :)

As many people joined later in the program, we had to restart the telescope to show Venus.

Once again Urvi did great job of informing all about Venus's phases during observation and took few lovely shots too. Jigar & Stephen also did their work prety nicely. Thanks to them.
