Dear Friends,
Well begun is half done. The Dawn of IYA 2009 was celebrated at Kankaria lake today morning with great enthusiasm and spirit. The same enthusiasm was seen even during the 1st evening program of "Tanmaye's Amazing Space" at "Apang Manav Mandal" ("Association of Disable People"), Opp. AMA, IIM Road, Ahmedabad.
The program began at 6:40 pm with students from 3rd standard to college going. They started enjoying posters of "Solar System Bodies" in local Gujarati language. They were totally 162 disable children. This was followed by Lunar Observation. They enjoyed telescopic observation for the first time in their life. That was followed by Slide show on "Solar System" the program went on for nearly 2 hours.
Those who answered correctly were given some astronomical model making kits. The attached pictures are self explanatory.
